Avoid Christian Mastodon Server "https://theres.life/"
"Write when you have something to say." Turns out after a recent experience, I have something to say.
For the past ten years, I've been investigating where Freedom of Speech and religious freedom overlap. My prognosis is that the situation is not especially good. Furthermore, the worst offenders where this problem occurs are people who call themselves Christians.
The people at the above-mentioned Theres.Life server are, as best as I can tell, a honey-trap. I suspect this place exists to lure believers in in an effort to get them then to serve Mammon instead of following the outlined Biblical precepts taught by the Messiah.
I do not intend to rehash the entirety of what happened here, but I will give a flavoring of the matter. There was a woman who was freshly married who stated that her marriage made her feel like she needed to depend upon God less. My reply was that was a strange feeling to have, since marriage is about restoring the relationship between man, woman, and God and their proper roles.
She took offense to this statement, and proceeded to tell me I was not saved, that my Church was going to hell, that I was a heretic, and several other statements along those lines when I asked her to back up her assertions with Bible verses. I provided the evidence of my position, and pointed out how the wedding at Cana where water was turned into wine was the beginning sign of the ministry of the bridegroom, otherwise known as the Messiah. I also pointed out how wine is a kind of symbol for the spirit, and that the idea was that the spirit was being renewed as a mercy.
She somewhat came around to understanding this position, and said a few other odds and ends that were not especially relevant to the point I was making, and so I let the rest of her comments go.
When I came back, I had some moderator that had said "Her feelings about marriage were fine," say something along the lines of "This stops here," as though what I was doing was the equivalent of beating the hell out of the person instead of stating what the Biblical understanding of marriage is. I said I had a higher authority to obey, and though I didn't state it there was no rule on the server broken by the exchange. The owner of the instance stepped in and accused me of looking for a "fight". I stated that the Biblical definition of marriage is not a fight, but a fact. It culminated in this final exchange we had.
Whatever that was about, it wasn't a stated rule, and every interaction I had with the lady in question was as if I had been in person, although if a woman had attacked me as the lady did in reality, I probably would have had to have asked her to leave.
This brings me to my final point. Theres.life says it is a Christian instance, but refuses to do what YHVH and the Messiah command us to do toward one another. Instead of standing against the enemies of Messiah, there is a placation of false doctrine and a desire "not to hurt someone's feelings". Messiah never seemed to bother much with whether His message hurt someone's feelings. In the end, I was banned from the server after being asked to remove my account. I wasn't, of course, given time to make preparation as they had to bang the ban-hammer down. Their finding was that I was rude and that we were not a good fit--like we were supposed to be on a date or something.
Whatever is going on over there, it is troubling. I did note that the server is based out of Germany, and I suppose they still haven't really repented for all that Jewish Holocaust stuff that was done except now it seems they are simply ignoring what the Messiah did and was exemplifying in favor of--something else. Perhaps the sampling of that server is not reflective of the whole place. I certainly hope not.
If you are a person of faith, don't head that way. It will only gain you entrance through the wide gate. You know where that leads.
